
DRC chairs World Bank diagnostic on disaster risk financing
The Minister of Finance chaired the presentation of the diagnostic on disaster risk financing, organised in collaboration with the World Bank, to strengthen the State's pre-arranged emergency response capacity.
Kinshasa, April 30, 2026 — The Minister of Finance, Doudou Fwamba Likunde Li-Botayi, chaired the presentation of the diagnostic on the financing of disaster risks (FRC), organised in collaboration with the World Bank.
This diagnostic report highlights the scale of disasters in the DRC and emphasises the critical need to resort to pre-arranged financing mechanisms to improve the State's responsiveness in emergency situations.
High-level participation
The ceremony was attended by the Vice-Prime Minister and Minister of the Budget, Adolphe Muzito, the Governor of Kinshasa, Daniel Bumba, as well as the Special Advisor to the Head of State. Their presence reflects the cross-government importance of this initiative for the DRC's financial resilience.
